About Arctic Bath
Swedish architects Bertil Harström and Johan Kauppi designed it as a tribute to the region's timber history, and the round main building takes its shape from the log driving once done on the Lule River. In winter the cold bath opens straight through the river ice; in summer the same water runs under the midnight sun. The spa's products come from c/o GERD, based in Jokkmokk, and the menu includes a guided morning sauna ritual by the river. Guests sleep in cabins on land or on the water, reached by floating walkways.
