About Banja Kanjiža
The spa began on a pasture where artesian wells watered livestock. A new well drilled in May 1908 brought up yellowish water and flammable gas, and people soon called it the miracle well; paid bathing started that same year. A bathhouse with 12 rooms and 20 tubs opened on 10 August 1913, and for years the water was sold in dark green bottles. Today's water comes from a borehole 1,140 m deep at 67 °C, a sodium hydrogen carbonate water with iodine, bromide and sulphide.
