Steam and Salt
Two wood-fired saunas, Iso for 12 and Pikku for 8, on the lower promenade at the south end of Longsands beach in Tynemouth, near the old outdoor pool. Guests cool off under cold showers on the promenade or in the North Sea.

About Steam and Salt
The saunas look out at Longsands through large panoramic windows. Longsands has rip currents near the rocks at both ends of the beach, and the one at the south end runs directly opposite the saunas. The operator tells anyone who chooses a sea dip to go in further north, level with Crusoe's, the large café at the bottom of the ramp down to the beach, and to swim between the red and yellow flags when lifeguards are on duty.
