Pamukkale Travertines
Thermal water supersaturated with calcium carbonate runs down the slope below Hierapolis and hardens into white travertine terraces holding shallow pools. One ministry ticket covers the terraces and the ruins of Hierapolis, founded in the 2nd century BC by Eumenes II of Pergamon.
