Questions about the Styrian Thermal Region
Is the sauna included at the Styrian thermal baths?
At Rogner Bad Blumau and in Loipersdorf's sauna village, yes; everywhere else it costs extra. At Blumau the sauna area and Turkish steam bath come with entry, while Loipersdorf's adults-only Schaffelbad, for guests 16 and over, costs extra and has separate textile-free and swimwear areas. The Heiltherme and H2O in Bad Waltersdorf, the Parktherme in Bad Radkersburg and the Therme der Ruhe in Bad Gleichenberg add a sauna supplement to the therme ticket.
Can children go to the Styrian thermal baths?
Yes, at most of them, with age limits in the thermal water and the saunas. At Rogner Bad Blumau under-6s may not use the thermal pools or the Vulkania lake, and Therme Loipersdorf takes babies in the thermal and adventure pool, with the sauna village from 13 with an adult. The Heiltherme in Bad Waltersdorf admits guests from 14 only, while H2O next to it has no minimum age and a sauna world from 15. At the Parktherme the 36 °C Quellbecken is from 16, and the Therme der Ruhe has no children's facilities and sells only a limited number of children's tickets.
Can you reach the Styrian thermal baths by train?
Yes. Bad Blumau has a railway station 2 km from the resort, and for Therme Loipersdorf you take the train to Fürstenfeld or Jennersdorf, then a few minutes by bus or taxi. Bad Waltersdorf has its own station, and the Thermenlandbus from Vienna stops at both of its baths as well as at Loipersdorf. The Parktherme is about 2 km from Bad Radkersburg station at the end of the S51, and for Bad Gleichenberg you change at Feldbach.
