A Chavasqueira thermal pools
Small stone pools in a riverside garden at the start of Ourense's Paseo Termal, a few metres past the Millennium Bridge and the nearest bathing spot to the city centre. The water sits around 40 °C, and a mermaid sculpture by Acisclo Manzano stands in the Miño beside the pools, partly under water when the river is high.

About A Chavasqueira thermal pools
The spring is hyperthermal, with water of medium mineralization that is very soft, carries fluoride, has bicarbonate and sodium as its main ions, and has a pH of 7.82. The spot is also known as Caldas del Obispo after Cardinal Quevedo, the bishop who had the springs fitted out in the 19th century for the sick who came for the cure. He also built a small stone pavilion for his own use, which still stands inside the neighbouring Termas da Chavasqueira.
