Thermalpark Dunajská Streda

The first thermal pool here opened in 1973, and today the Rotunda pool, half indoors and half out, holds thermal water at 36 to 39 °C from a borehole 1,600 m deep. The 18-hectare park also has spring-water pools, a swimwear-free sauna world for over-16s and a natural lake with swimming in summer.

Swimwear and rules
Clean, decent swimwear in the pools; bathing in underwear or other clothing is not allowed, and children must wear swimwear or swim nappies. The Sauna World is swimwear-free (the operator calls it a 'bezplavková zóna').

Under-12s only with someone over 18. The Rotunda thermal pool is for over-6s, and the Sauna World is from age 16.

About Thermalpark Dunajská Streda

The town's first lido opened in 1930 with two pools, a wooden diving board and a slide, and it ran until the 1960s. Test wells followed once Hungary's thermal baths had caught the town council's eye, and the first thermal pool, 25 by 50 m, opened on 28 July 1973; 88,235 people came in its first season. By 1977 the grounds had been planted with 600 trees, 1,000 shrubs and 1,300 rose bushes. On 1 December 1990 the park passed back to the town of Dunajská Streda.
