About Les Thermes
Les Thermes was designed by three practices working together, atelier Jim Clemens, Witry & Witry and Hermann & Valentiny et associés, who won the architecture competition in June 2004; building began in September 2005. Most of its saunas carry Luxembourgish names: Waasser (water) and Äerd (earth) are built on two and three levels, Steng (stone) is the plain Finnish kind, and in the Feier (fire) sauna a wood fire crackles. Beside the sauna bar there is a winter garden and an ice fountain, and on Moonlight Sauna nights the area stays open until midnight with a themed buffet.
