Terme San Giovanni Rapolano
The day-visitor area has five thermal pools, one indoor and four outdoor, up to about 36 °C and about a metre deep, looking over the Crete Senesi. The sulphurous, calcium bicarbonate water rises at 39 °C, and the 20-hectare park is planted with tamarisks, plane trees, lavender and old roses.

About Terme San Giovanni Rapolano
Each of the five pools has a name. Ottagono, at about 36 °C, sits inside an octagon with almost all of its walls giving a view over the Crete Senesi, and Fiore connects with it. Grotta, at 30 °C, has a small waterfall beside it, Panoramica faces west for the sunsets, and Bollore runs at 33 to 35 °C in winter and 23 to 25 °C in summer, with water games and hydromassage. Corners of the park have names too: the elephant's back, the living room in the trees and the gazebos on the reef of the crete. Sulphur gives the water its smell.
