About Krossneslaug
Krossneslaug sits in the tiny settlement of Krossnes, and the pool looks straight out to the ocean with nothing between the two waters. Natural hot springs are rare in the Westfjords because this is the oldest part of Iceland, the least affected by the volcanic rift through the center of the country, and this pool is heated by them. Hólmavík and Drangsnes, the nearest villages of any size, are both over 100 km away, more than two hours of driving. Whales occasionally break the surface offshore, most often humpbacks, and seals and many seabirds live in the area.
