Brigetio Gyógyfürdő (Brigetio Thermal Bath)

Komárom's 58 °C water was declared medicinal in 1967 and comes from a well in use since 1965. Two outdoor medicinal pools and an indoor one hold the calcium magnesium hydrogen-carbonate water, and Roman heated pools were identified nearby at Brigetio in 2021.

About Brigetio Gyógyfürdő (Brigetio Thermal Bath)

The water carries 1,265 mg of dissolved minerals per litre, calcium, magnesium and hydrogen-carbonate with chloride and sulphate, at a pH of 6.4, and in 2018 the bath and the ground around it were declared an official health resort. The Roman finds lie in Komárom's Szőny district, where systematic digs have run since 1992: radar showed a building of nearly 5,000 m² under the ground, of which about 600 m² was uncovered, with massive walls and surviving underfloor heating. In summer the grounds add an outdoor swimming pool, a slide pool and children's pools with a snake slide.
