Mytilene is the capital of Lesvos, on the island's south-east coast across the strait from Turkey. Therma Spa is outside the city, on the shore of the Gulf of Gera about 7 km along the road to Kalloni, with domed stone pools for men and for women and an outdoor pool on the bay.
