Thermal baths in Burgenland
Thermal baths in Burgenland, Austria's easternmost state: the Sonnentherme at Lutzmannsburg on the Hungarian border, Therme Stegersbach and the AVITA Therme at Bad Tatzmannsdorf in the hills of the south, and St. Martins Therme in the Seewinkel east of Lake Neusiedl. Their springs feed thermal pools of about 32 to 37 °C, and St. Martins adds a bathing lake from May to September. The sauna areas cost extra, and they are used unclothed at Lutzmannsburg, Bad Tatzmannsdorf and St. Martins.

Questions about Burgenland
Is the sauna included at the Burgenland thermal baths?
No. Lutzmannsburg, Stegersbach, Bad Tatzmannsdorf and St. Martins all add a sauna supplement to the bath ticket. The Sauna World at Lutzmannsburg is a nude area without exception, the sauna cabins and sauna pools at Bad Tatzmannsdorf are used unclothed, and the sauna landscape at St. Martins is textile-free. Bad Tatzmannsdorf's sauna ticket includes the women-only Lady's Spa.
Can children go to the Burgenland thermal baths?
Yes, and the Sonnentherme at Lutzmannsburg is built around them, with a Baby World of shallow pools at 33 to 36 °C and slides with their own minimum ages. Children from 12 who swim very well may go in there without an adult; at Bad Tatzmannsdorf under-12s and at St. Martins under-14s need an adult with them. The saunas start at 13 at Bad Tatzmannsdorf, 14 at Stegersbach and St. Martins and 15 at Lutzmannsburg.
Can you reach the Burgenland thermal baths without a car?
Yes, though the last stretch often needs a shared call taxi. Trains run to Frauenkirchen for St. Martins and to Deutschkreutz for Lutzmannsburg, and Verkehrsbetriebe Burgenland buses run from Vienna and Graz to Bad Tatzmannsdorf and to the main square in Stegersbach. The BAST shared call taxi covers the gap to Lutzmannsburg, Stegersbach and St. Martins and has to be booked ahead.
