Thermal baths in Ovronnaz
High on the north side of the Rhône valley in Valais, Ovronnaz is a mountain resort at about 1,350 m, roughly 15 km from Sion. Les Bains d'Ovronnaz has indoor and outdoor thermal pools that look south to the Valais Alps. In summer the Jorasse chairlift carries walkers up from the resort, and from the top a path climbs in about two and a half hours to the Rambert hut under the Grand Muveran.

Building started in 1987 and the indoor pool opened at Christmas 1990; three pools now cover over 600 m² at 1,342 m, facing the Rhône valley and the Valais Alps.
