Therme București
A three-zone spa complex beside the DN1 at Balotești, north of Bucharest, whose pools use geothermal water the operator draws from 3,100 metres down. The Palm zone, for over-14s, has a 33°C thermal pool under a retractable roof with a swim-through link to an outdoor pool, Galaxy has a wave pool and 17 slides, and Elysium holds the themed saunas.

- Swimwear and rules
- Swimwear in every zone, including the Elysium saunas: in the saunas only swimwear is allowed and a towel for the whole body is compulsory. The operator says there is no nudist section and will not be one in Romania. Men may wear board shorts. Mixed throughout; no single-sex sessions. Bathrobe compulsory in the Elysium restaurant.

- 14 and over. Galaxy (slides and wave pool): any age; swim nappies compulsory for babies. The Palm: adults and over-14s, plus under-3s with a parent. Elysium (saunas): no under-14s. Under-14s must be with an adult; over-14s may enter alone with ID. Massages and treatments 18 and over.

About Therme București
The Salt Library's walls are built from blocks of Himalayan salt, 40 tonnes in all, and the operator calls it the largest structure of its kind in Europe. Outside, the Pangeea park lays out nine continents as a 3,800 m² green puzzle, each with its own mineral, a tree from that part of the world and medicinal plants. At The Mango Tree restaurant you dine among walls of living lichen, bonsai, banana and mango trees. The Sands of Therme beach spreads 30,000 m² of sand around a tropical pool with a pool bar.
