About Palatinus Thermal and Open-air Bath
The bath began in 1919 as a cage pool in the Danube, and in 1921 a 5,000 m² pool and two smaller ones were built, the big one the largest in Europe until the Second World War, the operator says. The 1937 building was planned for ten thousand bathers. In 2002 the big pool was split into a swimming pool, a fun pool and an open-air bath pool, laid out so the water still reads as one surface, because the open-air bath is protected. In summer the thermal pool has chess boards set into the water, and the wave pool starts up every hour.
