Thermal baths in Bogács

Bogács is a village on the southern edge of the Bükk hills in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, about 11 km from both Eger and Mezőkövesd. Its medicinal bath fills six pools with sulphurous water, one of them under a roof held up on columns of local stone.

    Thermal bath, Bogács · Twin pool II temporarily closed

    An oil-exploration drill struck 60 to 70 °C water at Bogács in October 1955, and a thermal well drilled in 1958 to 1959 found calcium magnesium hydrogen-carbonate sulphurous water at 485 m.
