Bad Bertrich lies in the narrow, wooded valley of the Üßbach on the south-eastern edge of the Eifel, a few kilometres above the Moselle and about 13 km south-west of Cochem. The Vulkaneifel Therme belongs to the state spa and fills its indoor and outdoor pools with warm Glauber's salt water from deep underground.
