Swimming in Port de Pollença

Port de Pollença is a harbour town on the Bay of Pollença in the north of Mallorca, 6 km from Pollença and about 50 km north-east of Palma. Platja de Formentor lies on the southern shore of the Formentor peninsula, reached by road or by boat in summer. The road runs on about 7 km to the lighthouse at Cap de Formentor, past the Es Colomer viewpoint.

    A long sandy beach backed by pines on the Formentor peninsula, also called Cala Pi de sa Posada, beside a hotel that opened early in the twentieth century and hosted the Formentor literary conversations.
