Swimming in Santa Cesarea Terme

Santa Cesarea Terme is on the Adriatic coast of the Salento, in Puglia, about 13 km south of Otranto. Below the town the shore is cliff, with steps cut down to deep water, old quarry pools and sea caves that give off warm sulphurous water. About 3 km south, towards Castro, guides take visitors into the Zinzulusa sea cave, which you can also reach by boat.

    A cliff coast below the town where steps cut through the rock lead down to deep water and to natural pools left in old seaside stone quarries.
