Getting in

Access
The reserve map puts Cala Tonnarella dell'Uzzo 0.7 km from the north entrance on the San Vito Lo Capo side, the first cove on the coastal path; the map also marks the Tonnarella dell'Uzzo visitor centre and museum of marine activities there. The reserve tells visitors to wear trekking shoes, not flip-flops, to avoid falls. Riserva Naturale Orientata dello Zingaro: ticketed entry, open daily 07:00 to 19:00 (reserve home page and map notice of 7 May 2026); cars stay at the entrance car parks and the reserve is walked. The reserve closes on days of high fire-risk alert from the regional Civil Protection (for example 29 Aug 2026). Coast guard ordinance 20/2018 (Trapani): motor boats banned within 100 m of the reserve coast and anchoring within 50 m without authorisation; in the bathing season the coves from Tonnarella dell'Uzzo to Cala Capreria are closed to all craft except rowed beach craft and small sailing boats without engines.
Parking
Cars stay outside the reserve. The north entrance is about 12 km from San Vito Lo Capo via Villaggio Calampiso; the reserve's marked car park is at the south entrance near Scopello.
