Spiaggia dei Conigli (Rabbit Beach)
Spiaggia dei Conigli is a sand beach facing the Isola dei Conigli islet, inside the Isola di Lampedusa nature reserve, where loggerhead turtles come ashore to nest. From June to mid-October entry is by online booking in two daily shifts, with no more than 550 people on the beach at a time.

Expect the sea at about 26 °C in August and 15 °C in February, going by the 1991 to 2020 averages. The swimming season runs from June to November.
Getting in
- Access
- The beach is reached on foot along a path of about 800 m over rocky, slippery ground; the reserve asks for proper shoes and strongly advises against the walk for people with mobility, balance, heart or breathing problems. There are no lifeguards, first aid, refreshments, toilets or drinking water in the reserve. The area closes during orange or red weather alerts and for 24 hours after a felt earthquake or exceptional rain. Inside the Riserva Naturale Orientata Isola di Lampedusa, managed by Legambiente Sicilia for the Region. From 8 June to 18 October 2026 entry needs an online booking at prenotazionespiaggiaconigli.it, in two shifts (08:30 to 13:30 and 14:30 to 19:30), with at most 550 people on the beach per shift and 1,100 a day. During the bathing season the beach and the access track are open 08:30 to 19:30, and no one may stay after 19:30; staff can delay or stop entry during loggerhead turtle nesting and hatching. No dogs (except guide dogs), smoking, chairs, sunbeds, sunshades other than parasols, inflatables, ball games, fishing, drones or bicycles; fenced-off zones are out of bounds.
- Public transport
- Scheduled buses run from Piazza Brignone in Lampedusa town to the reserve every hour, 08:00 to 20:00 and until 21:00 in summer (reserve manager). Lampedusa is served by Siremar ferries from Porto Empedocle and by flights from Palermo and Catania.
